Inform Billing helps LDD Group take advantage of opportunities in managed print services
When LDD Group wanted to diversify into managed print services it turned to existing partner, Derby-based Inform Billing, to help strengthen its offering.
Providing ICT hardware, software and solutions, as well as telecoms services, across the UK, LDD was keen to move into managed print services; opening up an additional revenue stream to complement its core business.
LDD already had a significant number of customers using managed print services provided by Brother, HP and Samsung. It saw the opportunity to use its expertise and offer these customers significant cost and efficiency savings through developing its own managed print solutions.
The challenge for LDD was to be able to invoice customers in a clear and flexible way; not only for the rental of printers and copiers, but also easily breaking down print volumes with separate charges for mono and colour print. Most importantly, the solution needed to automate the process due to growing customer volumes.
As an existing customer of Inform Billing, LDD instantly recognised that its Eclipse billing platform would be ideal to support this venture.
Mandi Iles, Group Sales Director at LDD Group, said: “After using Inform Billing’s Eclipse billing platform for a number of years with our existing telecoms and IT services, we contacted them with the hope that its functionality could be transferred for use with managed print services.
“Managed print was a relatively new market for us and Inform Billing’s expertise and many years’ experience in billing a variety of services proved invaluable in helping us to fully understand the billing requirements.”
Shaun Bodsworth, Managing Director at Inform Billing explains: “The multi-level functionality of our ‘Eclipse’ billing software allows our channel customers to add additional recurring revenue streams to their businesses, increasing their offering and providing efficiency savings to their customers.
“The work done with LDD allows us to produce clear and concise invoices, detailing each printer and its associated charges including itemisation for mono and colour print, in a fully automated way.”
Shaun hopes that the work done with LDD will introduce its products and services to a new audience: “Managed print is a market that is still relatively new and rapidly developing. We are keen to work with others and add our expertise to both the industry and to those looking to diversify into it.”
